Looking for things to do if you don’t have a car?  The Ann Arbor Downtown Area is a vibrant downtown area offering a variety of shops, restaurants and cultural activities.  You can hope the NTI Shuttle and venture to town – just keep in mind that there is no mid-day shuttle so plan your day accordingly.

Favorite spots close to campus include:

  • University of Michigan Museum of Art
  • University of Michigan Kelsey Museum of Archaeology
  • Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum
  • Kerrytown Market and Shops

Looking for a quiet spot to relax? Several area coffee houses offer complimentary Wi-Fi and a cozy spot to spend time with a good book.  You can also try the Ann Arbor District Library or the Michigan Union.

Wanting to venture outdoors?  The University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum, begun in 1907, this natural space is loaded with displays, nature trails and several pieces of art.  Spend the day enjoying this treasure in the city.

There are numerous city parks surrounding the University of Michigan Campus as well.  You can hike, kayak, canoe, golf and more.  Visit the City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation information page for further details.
