Course 41 – Discussion Methods

Deals with strategies and techniques for planning and facilitating a discussion as an instructional method. Course content includes coverage of discussions as an active learning instructional method suitable for a competency-based learning environment, various uses of discussions in designing instruction, creating a discussion outline, and the finer points of facilitating a discussion. Participants will plan and facilitate a discussion on a topic of their choice.

Course 42 – Creating an Active Training Environment

In-depth preparation with instructional design processes that ensure successful training experiences. Application of adult learning principles to the Electrical Training ALLIANCE curriculum materials and adapting instruction to a variety of training situations. Special emphasis placed on the design and use of “Active Learning Strategies” in both classroom and laboratory settings.
